Fishing Report

A Friday Post- Its Shore Fishing Season!!

Its Shore Fishing Time!!!!!!

It’s not often that I get excited about a slimy northern, but when it is the first fish of the year from open water with a long rod, that changes things.

While is wasn’t the usual slaughter fest at a bridge, it was still great to feel that thump-thump on a long rod.

There are a lot of ice jams up north and the northern coulees are chocolate milk and approaching peak current making them basically unfishable.  The bridges closer to the lake though are opening and the current hasn’t totally opened up closer to the lake, so fishing is possible and actually going to be pretty good.  We have heard of Walleyes coming out of Spring/Shore Fishing locations #1 and #106.

We investigated locations #1, #106, #93, #94, #92, and #108 last evening and they were all in good fishing condition with not too much current.

It is only going to heat up from here on out.

And who could not love a face like this after 5 months of ice fishing!

Some Things To Know To Tackle The Spring Pre-Spawn Bite

And yes, it is that simple.

For the Spring Fishing timeframe, we stock up on these:

And these:

We also recommend you have this along with you as well, it will cut out a lot of searching and backtracking and we will be giving location reports as we investigate the different areas:

Good Luck out there!

  3. I’ve purchased several waypoint packages from DLFR and always get what I’ve paid for. Technology can have hiccups so be patient and Travis will always deliver. Deliver waypoints and some great fishing. Thanks Travis.
