The Last One Was Kind Of A Bugger Though

Took me almost an hour to get that last one, had him up to the boat 3 times, and started to want to kick myself for losing it. Some parts of the water I was fishing dropped significantly over night and that caused a few problems, but once I located where the warmer water was, it was pretty much a done deal.
Thought the wind and rain would be an issue, but the wind didn’t start until the end and the rain was almost non-existent. Shallow, less than 10 feet of water. Yes, the water is starting to clear up a little bit, even with the wind we had, but with cloudy skies we are still able to get some to bite.
Always Check The Stomach

I always check the stomachs of my fish. Yes, it is usually just shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp; sometimes you find some interesting stuff though. The above pike had a salamander in him, I don’t think I had ever seen that before.

The Walleyes on the other had are feasting on shrimp and that post-spawn malaise is starting to wear off. Add to that the water starting to warm to between 64 and 67 degrees where I was, things are just starting to get
