Ice Fishing

Wednesday Ice Report!

Cracks With Slush

Had Us Puckered Pretty Good!

When noticing ice that appears wet or with water present, we are always a little freaked out. When you drop down a little and have to give it a lot of gas to get out of it, it can shake you up a little bit.

We entered a pretty good slush pocket today and we were worried that we weren’t going to get out. We were able to pop up out of it but I know I was a little shaken up for about 10 minutes.

A few of these spots have popped up in the areas that we have fished and the cold snap that is coming soon is much needed to firm those slush pockets up a little bit.

The ice thickness is good, mostly over 2-feet in most areas, just avoid those slush spots.

The next 48-hours are going to be the last time we will probably have to worry about that kind of stuff as negative temperatures are on the way. In some instances, really cold temperatures.

Good Luck out there!
