Friday is our Open Forum/Guest Post for the summer.  Something on your mind?  Opinion on Devils Lake, the state of fishing in North Dakota, one of our recent posts or commentaries, or do you have a subject that you really want to give us your opinion on, let us have it.

We will add every contribution that we receive before 4 p.m. every Friday.  I know there are few Pike enthusiasts out there that are chomping at the bit to voice their opinions and we will appreciate every word.

  1. Pike vs Walleye. I think they are both great eating, but it seems if you are eating fish and you get a tint of fishy taste is it more apt to be northern. If that is the case, is it from the cleaning/preparation or is northern more apt to get that taste.

    Switching gears now. I recently cleaned and prepared som white bass for dinner. I filleted them, cut out the red meat on the outside of the fillet and then boiled them in tin foil for ten minutes. Than they went in the broiler pan for two minutes. Dipped in butter and they were superb. Tasted almost like torso.
