Fishing Report

It’s A Walleye Wednesday!

Was A Quick One Today

Even With Wasting The 1st 2 Hours!

We checked 3 different spinner spots to see if it would be time yet, we found not much. So, off to a pitching spot we went at about 7:30. Headed off the water by 9 with 5 Walleyes, 3 studs and 2 eaters, and we lost 2 and missed 3. Needless to say, they were pretty stacked in there.

We were using #7 SSR’s, for color, well you gotta have a subscription for that!!

Odd Year To Say The Least!

Aside from roadbeds and 2 isolated cases, the spinner bite just hasn’t kicked into high gear yet. In fact, it has been pretty non-existent. That is very odd for this lake and this time of year. Normally, we are knee deep into a spinner bite by now. Crystal clear water and lower than normal water temperatures have made everything about a month to a month and a half behind schedule.

That’s great for you if you love to pitch cranks and plastics; not so great if you adhere to a timeline and expect things to occur when they should. It has made for some frustrating days on the water but while the spinner bite is yet to appear, there are still 2 pretty decent ways to catch fish right now:

  • Bobbers

  • Plastics

  • Cranks

Good Luck out there!
