Another Pretty Good Day!
We went a little shallow at first to try for some eyes and we got a couple, over 20 feet of water, then it was back to the depths. At the onset, we were on fish and right away they were pretty good biters, and then it turned into a grind. We were able to grind out a pretty good mess of fish today, over 30 feet of water in the basin. No structure, just roaming Perch and Walleyes gorging on shrimp and Blood Worms.
Roaming, basin Perch can be a lot of fun, bet they can be frustrating as all heck as well. Here one minute, literally GONE the next. And if you don’t get on em when they are here, they may not come back. Getting back down to the bottom as fast as possible is vital as well because the flurry might only last a few minutes and to pile em up you have to get up and down in a hurry. We try to have a few rods baited up, just for those flurries, hook up, discard and grab another rod, and repeat.
Good Luck out there!
