Monday Weekly Fishing Report: July 10th!

Just Another Week Of Catching!!

Another pretty awesome week on Devils Lake, the bite has remained as hot as we left it and we are still adjusting what we consider a keeper. The ole’ 14 and 15 incher isn’t going to cut it anymore and we are throwing a lot of those size fish back, 16’s and bigger are the new normal!!

We are seeing quite a few almost’s (12-13 inchers) as well and that bodes well for the future of our fishery!

Depths!

Starting to see a lot more fish drifting into the 26-35 foot range, and while we aren’t spending a whole lot of time in that range, there are becoming more fish there. When the sun gets a little higher towards mid-day, that is where we are getting quite a few of our ‘end of the day’ keepers.

Starting to have to have more 2 oz and 2.5 oz bouncers now.

Colors!

The metallics were pretty hot today, after a little hiatus for a few days. Pinks and Purples were really good for a few days but now today, Silver and Gold got us quite a few.

And of course, worms were the bait of choice, we don’t use a whole lot of ‘Gulp’ when we are pulling spinners. We probably should but I like actual bait. We will probably be doing a little experimenting over the next few days cause man are we going through the worms.

Places To Look!

With this ‘drift deeper’, we will also start to see less of a focus on structure and more of just edges. They will start on the cut and then just drift deeper as the day progresses. Look for sharp cuts and drop off’s and focus on that sharp cut.

Good Luck out there!
