Definitely Drifting Deeper!!
It appears that the drift deeper is going on as we speak. There are still a large amount of fish super shallow, but there are also quite a few that are getting into that 8-15 foot range as well, and that drift will continue all summer long.
Spinners and trolling cranks is about to explode and we have already gotten a few with Spinners already.
With that drift, we are using more and more #6 and #7 crank baits to get at those fish that are just a tad deeper. Countdowns will do the same thing, but we prefer the SR and the SSR, just like the way they run I guess, personal preference.
Water Temperature Spike
Part of the reason behind the drift deeper is the rise in water temperature. We have seen a spike, from low 70’s to the high 70’s in a very short period of time. Not only should this get a lot of these fish super active, but it will push them a little deeper as well.
