Ice Fishing

Wednesday Weekly Ice Conditions: Episode 7- December 20th

Making Ice Weather Is Here!!

Still dealing with some trouble spots, mainly East Bay, Creel/Main Bay, Black Tiger, and a couple spots on the flats.  Extreme cold temperatures are here though and those remaining areas should be locked over the next 24 hours.  We are also getting 4-6 inches of snow so that may impede ice production a little.

We are still recommending to everyone that they drill as they go.  Some areas are in that 4-6 inch range, getting some 7-9 inch, and in the early freeze spots; like North 6 Mile we are actually getting 10-12 inches o ice.  The Northern Feeder lakes are ahead of the main lake but they too have some trouble spots.

Please, drill as you go and travel in pairs.

300 yards out on North Creel
100 yards out from behind Pop’s on East Bay today.

If you venture out, there are fish to be had and we have found many willing biters.  17-25 feet outside trees or adjacent to structure have been our best areas for Perch and Crappie.

5-8 feet and 10-15 feet on points and humps have been our best spots for Walleyes.

If you are coming up for the weekend, we can help you out:
