Thursday’s Weather and Solunar Forcast

Northern Tier Winds Will Plague Us For A Few Days

Some pretty breezy days will plague us late this week and early next week.  Finding the calm windows to get out on the water will be a challenge over the next few days.  The beauty of Devils Lake though, is there is always a protected bay to allow you to stay on the water.  Getting there might be the challenge but once in the confines of your selected bay, you will be able to continue catching fish.  The other plus of Devils Lake is that there are ample public launches to choose from, facing many different directions, to allow you to put your boat in.

Strong South wind? Go to Estenson’s Dead Cow or the Pelican Boat launch.

Stiff breeze out of the North? Six Mile Bay, Henegar on Creel Bay, or Acorn Ridge.

West wind? stop in at Woodland Resort, register and get on the water.

No matter which direction the gale is out of, there IS a launch that will allow you to put your boat in.

Now, some days, like possibly Friday, getting on the water might be too dangerous with gusts up to 30 mph, but all of the other days in the forecast it looks like, though rough, they should still be marginally fishable.

Solunar Forecast

The Full Moon comes into effect the middle of next week and the moon’s influence should be felt the most Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  If you are planning a trip make sure to include those days as ‘on the water’ days.  The Full Moon is never good for our Feather chasing but is awesome for the Fins!
