Sunday Funday Excursion

Worm And Spinner Walleye Explosion

Executive Decision Pays Off

Early morning rain showers delayed today’s trip and the window of fishing opportunity was narrowed significantly.  On the boat launch, the executive decision was made to go South instead of North and immediately it was evident the right decision was made.

Walleyes were hitting the spinners and worms hard and often.  That 20-26 foot shelf was littered with fish signatures and many were willing participants in our Sunday Funday.  We released close to 75 fish in a 3 hour window and we threw back many that were 14 in hopes of filling our limit with a little more quality fish.  There was even a willing Perch participant and we missed a number of other hits that were assuredly Perch on the bottom.

This is one of our favorite August haunts and I imagine this spot will be very good over the next few weeks.  Get on them while they are fresh!
