Now that we have ice on the Northern Feeder lakes and the big lake is starting to really lose power and the little bays are crusting, the important thing is to not get snow and have cold but not frigid temperatures. Snow on early ice produces slush and frigid, frigid temperatures will produce a rapid freeze that will leave us with buckled ice and pressure ridges all over the place. From the looks of this forecast, we are sitting pretty good.
