Stacked And Active
These things were fiery this morning, flying up and smoking those buck shots. When they came in there were lots of fish and the bigger ones would fly up past the smaller ones and just smoke it!! One of the reasons we love early days on the ice. It was a cold one out there but more than worth it. My left had was pretty much a claw half way through the flurries but we suffered through it!!
We were in 18-20 feet of water and while we didn’t have fish under us 100% of the time, I would say that it was close to 80% of the time and when there were multiples, they bit.
Orange/Chartreuse Buck Shot, Pink/White Buck Shot (1/8 ounce variety), and Gold Varmint; all tipped with minnow head though we did land a couple on a Perch Eye!!
Probably ATV Ready/But Easily Walkable!
I always err on the side of safety and while this is probably ATV worthy ice, I think caution is still in order.
Solid 9 inches though!
Good Luck out there!
