Finally Got #5!
It took what felt like forever to get that #5, as the wind totally died. I just about gave up on it and went in. The stubbornness in me wouldn’t let me give up on it. The deeper fish were bigger, but they would not bite. So, we stayed a little shallower and kept on the eaters. Miss after miss and then we finally got that pesky #5!!
The water is warming up and the fish are going deeper, everything was 15+ feet today and we will probably go to that range tomorrow as well. We saw a lot of bigger fish in 25-30 feet today, but those bigger marks didn’t want what we were offering.
Worms!
Spinners and worms again today. Didn’t even try a leech, probably should have but we got out 1st 4 so quick, wasn’t even contemplating putting a leech on. Things are about to heat up with the spinner bite, warmer weather and active fish, hold on to your butts!!
