Fishing Report

Sunday, Cloudy Funday!

Sun Out = Biting Fish

Clouds = No Bitey

Boy, when the sun was out it was game on, when the clouds took over it was a struggle. We abandon the main lake for the shallow, warm waters of the northern feeder lakes and it paid off, like we knew it would. Something about those northern lakes early on. We had numbers of Pike and Walleyes, all before noon, so no need to wait like you do on the main lake.

The main will catch up, but for the time being, probably another week or so, the best bite will be on Irvine, Chain, and Mike’s Lake. Pretty standard for this time of year.

We Like To Pitch

Bobbers Might Be Better

Everyone has their preference of how to target Walleyes and ours is Pitching, I would Pitch all year if it was the absolute best technique. Unfortunately it isn’t all the time. Right now, it is probably the 2nd best way to get Walleyes up north, with bobbers being #1. But if I have the choice of fishing until noon to get 10 -or- bobbering until 10 to get 10, I will pitch cranks every time.

Probably should have tried the plastics but when you’re getting them with cranks, why bother!!

Everything today was under 10 feet of water, and again, it is going to be for the near future.

Good Luck out there!
