Tag Along Search= Lotsa Pike, A few Big Eyes!

I Love Teaching This Lake

Sometimes It Bites Us!!

Tag-Alongs are a favorite of mine, especially when the clients understand what we are setting out to do.  Today’s guys ‘got it’.  The first area we pulled into we have 3 keeper eyes and that 26-inch release in the first 15 minutes.  Had we been after a limit, we wouldn’t have left.  We would have stayed and grinded on those fish until we were limited.

We kept moving though, showing them as many fishable, pitching spots in a 6 hour period was our goal and we got them the information that is going to make their entire trip a little more successful.

We saw waters from 52-63 degrees and the 60+ degree water was the most ‘fishy’.  There were pretty much pike everywhere and some White Bass mixed in.

Only one area showed us Walleyes though and it was actually a spot we hadn’t had a Walleye in yet, so that is encouraging.

Bobber Bite The Best Tactic

Until we see a major temperature swing in the positive direction across the fishery; the slow down, bobber presentation is going to be your best bet at a limit.  With client in the boat with us tomorrow, we are going to have to bite the bullet and slow down and bobber fish.  It is probably my least favorite form of fishing but to put limits of Walleyes in the boat right now, it is the presentation that is going to do it.

Good Luck out there.
