Definitely Have To Be Careful Out There!
But There ARE Areas/And Definitely Fish To Be Had
No Perch today, but quality Eyes and 2 landed Crappie with a whole bunch of marks that just didn’t want to eat. Best presentation was a lazy minnow, plain hook, under a slip bobber and we missed a lot more than we hooked up with. Nights getting below freezing is a saving grace right now as daytime temperatures are not where we would like to see them.
We aren’t really making ice but not losing any either. We have about 6-8 days to get through before I think we will really see our ice sheet get thicker and give us more spots to get to. For the time being we are being very cautious and only venturing in either pairs or going where we are 100% sure we know what the ice thickness is.
We will bring you the Ice Conditions report tomorrow and we plan on not fishing, just hitting as many areas of the lake as we can and taking measurements and pictures of the lake from East to West.
Stay Tuned!
Good Luck out there!
