Fishing Report, Ice Fishing

Wednesday Weekly Ice Conditions: Episode 13- January 31st

Extension Time

Well, we have gotten out of the time period where we are  concerned about ice thickness.  Now we enter that time of the year when we have to start thinking about putting extensions on our augers and k-Drill.  If you run a K-Drill, we strongly suggest you bring an extension with you.  On our auger flighting we still have a few inches to go but with this cold snap starting today, we are going to be needing to add those extensions.

Shovels Needed!

There isn’t a whole lot of snow on the  lake.  Problem is, the snow that is out there is all drifted and those drifts have gotten pretty hard.  Have had to shovel a few time after getting up on top of a drift and then dropping through.

Ridges

There are some ridges out there that are do not cross areas.  Besides the drifts, these would be about the only concerns at this time when it comes to safety on the ice.

Good Luck Out There!
