High Wind and a ‘Dead Moon’ Highlight Today’s Report
The story lately has been wind. The wind has blown here the last 3 days making ventures onto the ice ranging from miserable to impossible. Getting out today finally. There are some brisk wind days coming up that will make trips out almost impossible, mainly Friday and Sunday. Otherwise we should be making some ice each night which will help things along.

‘Dead Moon’
The moon we have over the next week is what we refer to as a ‘dead moon’. Everyday over the next week is a 1 star day. Those majors and minors will still have some effect on the bite but nowhere near what a 3 or 4 star day would. Is that going to keep us from going?
NO!
However, it will let us know that there isn’t an intense ‘must be out there’ period. More than likely that just means we will be staying out all day! We would anyway, so has no real effect on us.
