Fishing Report, Ice Fishing

2017-2018 Monday Ice Fishing Report: Chapter 3- November 27th

Post Holiday Weekend

(the waypoints for today’s trip were only sent to and available to DLFR Platinum and Silver Members)

We hope everyone had a joy filled Thanksgiving Weekend with family and friends.  We were out of town for most of the weekend so fishing was not on our agenda.  It felt good to get away.  Sometimes time with loved ones and a break to reflect are much needed.  It also felt good to get back on the ice today.  We found 6 inches out there today but by the time we left the ice at 2, it was getting hairy .  The main lake has a lot of standing water on top and many open spots.  A lot of that ice is getting soft as temperatures rose into the low 50’s today.

Seeing that our fears from last Thursday’s Weather report are being realized, we are, right now, recommending that you don’t venture out onto the Main Lake for a few days, at least until we have a few consecutive nights that get back down into the low 20’s or even the teens.  Some of the smaller waters are going to remain fishable but we were even made aware of at least one 4-wheeler going through on Alice and lots of portions of water that were once locked up are starting to open up again.

If you have an Ice Addiction and must go, do not do so alone.  Please travel in pairs at least, make sure you have picks and a rope with.  No fish is worth a life.

Until we get some cooler temps and that ice firms up again…

Good Luck Out There!
