Hype- Sometimes That Is All It Is

Transition Time Takes Some Straightening Out

We would like to preface this report by saying:

Pray For Texas!

Back To A Report!

Transition time on the Big Devil can be stressful.  You will read a lot of fishing reports online that say:

Fishing Is Great!!

And often times it is  This is truly an amazing fishery.  It goes through phases though and right now we are in a late summer/early fall transition phase.  We had clients out Monday and we caught fish.  Quite a few in fact.  Lots, and lots of small fish.  Had we been keeping 10-12 inchers we would have limited by noon.  We don’t keep those little ones thought and a long, frustrating day was had.  I know the guys in the boat were just trying to be nice and made statements like:

That’s fishing!

It didn’t make me feel any better and it really eats on a guy when those big arcs on the bottom won’t come alive and just little ones will bite.  Aside from a few nice pike, we didn’t boat any nice fish.

Talking to several other well respected guides and fishermen later in the day and, turns out, I wasn’t the only one who experienced a frustrating day.

Have no fear, it will turn around, and hopefully soon.  We have two trips planned for tomorrow and Friday and by then, we hope the bite has resumed.  Stay tuned tomorrow morning for our Thursday Weather and Solunar Report and hopefully later tomorrow for a good Walleye and Perch Alert.

Until then…
