ASK DLFR

We will take any and all questions on Fridays throughout the Ice Fishing Season and try to answer them as best we can, we will also publish some good waypoints on Fridays before the weekend so that people have a chance to get on fresh spots before the weekend warriors pound the ice too badly.

So here are two fresh waypoints for the weekend if any of you are brave enough to wage war against -50 degree wind chills:

And here is the last time we will post the Waypoints from last weekends trip:

In our comment section, ask us anything Fishing, Hunting, or Lake Region related and we will make our best attempt to answer your questions……Fire Away!

Catch you on the flip side next week…

Until then…..

Hold on to your Rod…..

and ……

CATCH MORE FISH!!

    1. Brady,
We had 6 inches on creel on thursday at 4 o’clock, reports of 12-15 on alice and irvine. 6-8 out in the main bay but have heard of wheelers and even trucks on the flats and possibly two trucks out by the towers. For sure four wheeler and snowmobile worthy, small truck worthy in a couple days and the northern lakes are probably ready for vehicle travel. Check the ice before you try though. It is for sure GO TIME!!

    1. Stump Lake ice is variable, in that 8-10 range and fishing has been slow. It has been slow for a lot of people in a lot of places and we attribute that to the Polar Arctic air mass that recently left us and the fact that the lake locked up shortly after a 50 mph wind event that left most water, especially the shallower areas really muddy. It is going to take a few days of consistent weather to straighten out the bait that way and is going to take a few weeks for the sediments in the water to settle.
