When Good Fish Go Bad!!
Really thought we had something going late this last week. The perch were finally kind of biting, until they weren’t. We had 2-2.5 days of decent Perch fishing before, like they will do eventually, they just shut down again. They went from hitting buckshots to hitting tungsten’s with whole minnows to hitting nothing to not even seeing them anymore.
Such is life for Perch fishermen on Devils Lake, back to searching!
Extension Time
If you haven’t done so already, it is probably time to put those extensions on your auger. I know that even with my custom 14 inch on mine, I can’t get through with the snobear up anymore, have to lower it now. That means that without an extension, you are probably going to run into ice that is too thick. Going to have ice well into late March and April with this latest cold snap and no real warm-up until the end of the month.
