Sometimes It’s Not About The ‘Catching’
But Absolutely About The ‘Fishing’
I think everyone knows that fishing has been really tough so far this winter, and that’s ok. But, sometimes it isn’t about the catching and how many fish you are able to put on the cleaning room table, sometimes it is about the experience. We only had a little bit to get out before the little man got bored with it, but the hour and a half was well worth it, and we even caught one!!
Saturday might have been the sickest I have been in years. Something I ate just did not agree with me and that carried on into Sunday, so the fact that we were even able to get out for a little bit make it all worth it.
This last week, just wasn’t good fishing. Today, no different. Again, marking a ton of fish that just didn’t want anything to do with what we had to offer. Minnow head, full minnow, buckshot, varmint, tungsten, etc; it just didn’t seem to matter. The Devils Lake winter of struggle continues!
Good Luck Out There!
Thanks for doing these reports. My kid is a little young to take fishing but looking forward to taking him in a couple years. I’m heading up this weekend with a group, and it is sad to see it has been a slow year, it is still a great time on the ice.
