Massive Weed Growth

Finding That Weed Edge Is Vital

As far as the pitch and shallow bobber bite anyway, relating to the emerging weeds is vital.  The grass has really shot up in the shallows in many places and finding where that edge is vital in catching fish.

In both areas that we had fish going today, having the boat in 6.5 – 8 feet and hitting the weed edge that was in 4 – 4.5 feet was the most effective.

What were we throwing for the most bites you ask?

Caribbean Shad in #5 and Bleak in #7 Scatter Rap were the 2 lures that got us our Walleyes and a couple bigger pike.

Good Luck out there!

  1. That’s for sharing. I live in Wyoming, and was fortunate to be able to get a house in Tolna. Your sharing has helped me be successful when I come that way and fish. I mostly fish Stump and am looking forward to fishing Devils Lake.
