Morning Marks Turn To…
Afternoon Bites!
Something can be said for right place, right time.
We marked a TON of fish on some really good spots early in the day and they just wouldn’t go. As the afternoon approached, some of those marks turned into bites. Sometimes as weather changes occur, the effect will wear off as the day gets longer in the tooth. This doesn’t alwayd bode well for our early morning Walleye bite and the way things have gone this winter; a faulty Walleye bite can really hamper the day.
We marked a ton of Eyes in the shallow spots, 6-14 feet of water, with not enough takers.
As we moved to some Perch spots we started to see some more active fish and were able to land some Jumbo’s. I’d like to be in those Walleye spots when those fish are ‘ON’.
Wonderbread Buck Shots with minnow heads were by far the best presentation for both species.
Good Luck out there.
