Cold and Now Wind! What’s A Guy To Do

It’s So Weather Dependent!

Since Saturday afternoon, the wind has been whipping over 20 mph, an at times more than that. The temperature dropped thewater temperature 8 degrees in 2 days. Needless to say, this has resulted in less than ideal fishing conditions on the big lake. We were finally, today, seeing those water temps back above 60, but it might take a bit for them to get back to where they were.

We spend a lot of our day, running from the wind. It started out decent, 8-12 mph out of the SSW, as it slowly turned to the West and then NW, it started picking up speed and this made for some interesting fishing. We probably missed more than we caught, but we didn’t zero.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow with MUCH less wind.

All of the Walleyes we got today were in that intermediate range, more than 10 but less than 20 feet of water and bottom bouncers and spinners with leeches/worms.

Good Luck out there!
