Absolute Brutal Conditions!
Makes The Bite Very Tough
As I woke up this morning at 4:30, I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like what I felt when I stepped outside. Something about -24 actual air temp that hits you a little different. There’s cold and then there is ‘OMG Cold’. Today was the latter, hard to even function when it is as brutal as it was today. However, the show must go on, so we did, and were able to manage a few Walleyes. Our crew did pretty well, considering.
Walleyes
Everything for Walleyes is under 25 feet of water for us right now. While these are the most dependable fish on the lake right now, they are getting tougher as well. Best bet is Buckshots or Coffin Spoons in a variety of colors.
Perch
There comes a point in time when a guy just says ‘no mas’, that time is quickly approaching for us if something drastic doesn’t change out there. They are just so inconsistent so far and with this yo-yo weather, it is hard to rely on them. They should be schooling up in the basins about right now, but that is not what we are seeing at this moment in time.
Good Luck out there!
