They Came Around Just A Little
Let me start off by saying, slip bobber fishing is by far my LEAST favorite way to fish. It is way down, bottom of the list. However, there were quite a few factors that made it necessary today. First off, a massive cold front dropped the water temperatures in some places over 15 degrees. Second, there we little to no wind on the lake today and when it did pick up a little, it wasn’t enough. Last, and maybe the most important, I had 4 clients in the boat so pitching wasn’t an option, and we haven’t had any luck trolling yet.
We did better than anticipated as the fish aren’t recovered from the big blow and rain that we had Thursday and Friday. It is going to take maybe a couple more days for the water to get back to where we want it and for the lake to settle down, back to where we want to see things.
So, it was bobbers and we got a few. Shallow, less than 10 feet of water and leeches.
Good Luck out there!
Thank You Travis for your encouraging thoughts for our next fishing trip to Devils Lake!
