Friday’s Report!

Gained 2.5 inches In 4 Days

Even With 40+ Degree Weather

Where we had 3.5, now we have 6. For abnormally warm weather, I’ll take it. There are quite a few brave souls venturing onto the ice sheet on wheelers, and while we are not doing that yet, there will be more and more of it this weekend.

The Perch were very docile today, we marked a bunch but most of the biters were on the smaller side and we threw back quite a few. Over 20 feet of water and 6 inches of ice, things are going to start to pick up substantially.

I would try to stay in those intermediate depths still, as we are still in that ‘early ice’ period.

We are still using minnow heads as well and if we don’t have to, we won’t be touching a spike until after Christmas, if at all!!

On our drive home we checked some trouble spots and was amazed at how much open water we still have on the big lake, it is still going to be awhile until the entire lake is 100% locked up, just a weird year I guess.

Good Luck out there!
