Non-Biters Are So Frustrating!

Especially When Others Are Getting Bit!

I don’t think there is anything more frustrating than to have others around you getting bit and you just can’t get on them, it drives me nuts! For periods of time this last week, we had a lot of fish on the screen and they just wouldn’t bite, and we knew that the tag along’s with us were getting bit. Drove me nuts to be honest.

Happy for them, frustrating for us, but that’s fishing.

So when do you go and when do you stay, that is the main question. I’ve been on both sides of the coin, I have stayed and waited, and I have left to find other fish. Mixed results on both instances, I guess the smart thing to do is stay and wait; patience is not one of my strong suits, ask my wife, however,

Still finding a lot of our fish relatively shallow and with very few exceptions, we are staying in 15-35 feet of water to catch our fish. That is going to change but spending a good amount of time in those ranges is a good idea.

We have had 2 instances so far this year where we have been super deep, otherwise it’s all been in 15-35 feet of water.

The fish are going to tell you when to go to those super deep areas and it might be starting to happen but definitely do some thorough searching below 35 feet first.

Colors and Lures!

Wonder Bread and Pinks have been two really good combinations for us. That Wonder Bread Coffin Spoon had been a favorite.

When they go ‘neutral’, the Gold Bad Bo has been my alternative to a tungsten. I hate fishing with tungsten’s, but sometimes it has to be done.

Good Luck out there!
