Holidays- In The Books

A Ton Of Snow- All Over The Lake

Time To Get To Work!!

We kind of ended out week last week with Tuesday as we had a storm coming in and about 3 days of work to get done before Christmas. We got it done and had a wonderful two days with family. We are ready to get after it.

We left the ice with a pretty good day on Tuesday but we knew with a sizeable amount of snow in the forecast. The timber we targeted Tuesday didn’t disappoint and we will be going back shortly. I love that shallower water and this time of year, less than 30 feet can be loaded with hungry fish.

They won’t stay in that intermediate range for long but while they are there, it can be some of the best fishing of the year.

When Good Fish Go Bad!!

We returned to the ice after the break with an intent on finding some new fish and I think we did that, problem was, they didn’t want what we were offering. Four spots that we found had quite a few fish on them, they just weren’t really biting. The ones that did bite and the others that checked us out were very lethargic. Such is the case, often times, when this much snow had covered the ice. It makes cloudy days or days that don’t have a lot of bright sun quite a bit tougher. The takers we did have were 38-41 feet of water. We will for sure be looking at these again, as a little more light and we would have had a lot of biters.

The Snow Is Thick And An Issue!

I guess we were due!!

One of those snowy, snowy winters and I think we got another 6-7 inch dusting again last night and we aren’t getting much of a break when it comes to the snow. Not much we can do about it, we just have to fish the conditions and wait for things to improve!

Good Luck out there!
